Singapore Airlines A380 Business calss on points!

Recently, I travelled from Manila to Mumbai on Singapore Airlines’ Business class, completely on points (with minimal taxes). The Manila to Singapore leg was on a Boeing 787-10, whereas the Singapore to Mumbai leg was on an Airbus A380. Singapore Airlines has static sector-wise point requirements (which have changed since Nov 2025). My booking was done before the change. hence fell under the old point requirements. However, you can find the new list in the following link.

As you can see, Manila to Mumbai falls under Zone 6 to Zone 3, for which you need 47.5k miles to book a business class ticket. The earlier requirement was 43k, and here is the screenshot of my redemption for 3 tickets. As you see, it took me 129k miles and USD 90 in taxes!

How did I book?

I used HDFC Ifinia points, and here are the steps that you can follow! Assuming you already have a Krisflyer account set up. If not, set up the account on Singapore Airlines website.

Step 1: Log in to Netbaking and go to the cards section. Click on “Redeem”

Step 2: This will take you to the redemption site, and click on “AirMiles”

Step 3: If you are transferring for the first time, click on “Frequent Flyer Registration. This will take you to this page.

Step 4: After registering, go back and click on “Airmile Redemption”. It will take you to the following page.

Step 5: Enter the miles you want to redeem and follow the steps. It might take upto 48 hours for the miles to show up in your Krisflyer account.

Step 6: Once the points have been credited, go to the Singapore Airlines website and search for an award flight and proceed with the booking!

Tip:
1. Make sure to book the famous “Book the Cook” option in case your flight has it!
2. The Business Class lounge in Chagni is called KrisCilver.
3. They have a noodle bar and showers!
